Direct Push Technology (DPT) and Hollow Stem Auger Drilling

Since 2004 Shaw has contracted QRI to perform work at the former Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant (LHAAP) in Karnack, Texas, under their Louisville District's Multiple Award Remediation Contract (MARC). The Plant is located in central-east Texas in the northeastern corner of Harrison County. The facility occupies 8,493 acres between State Highway 43 in Karnack, Texas, and the western shore of Caddo Lake. LHAAP is an inactive army installation which was active from the early 1940s to the late 1990s for the manufacturing of explosives, pyrotechnics, and rocket motors for World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War.

QRI has provided the following types of work at LHAAP:
    Direct Push Technology and Hollow Stem Auger drilling
    Continuous collection of soil samples
    Installation of 165 DPT boreholes for a total of 2,176 ft.
    Installation of monitoring wells (18 ranging from 15-75 ft.)
    Utility Locate & Marking Services
    GPS Mapping
    Analysis and Reporting
