Post Hurricane Katrina and Rita Personal Property Debris Removal

QRI was awarded 3 simultaneous personal property debris removal (PPDR) contracts by USACE, Louisiana Recovery Field Office (LA-RFO) for removal of debris from 8,173 private properties which covered 18,176 acres in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Within 48 hours of award, QRI deployed 632 crews divided into 105 teams ranging in size from 4 to 7 personnel equipped with trucks, dump trucks, cranes, excavators, front-end loaders, skid steers, boom trucks, water trucks, debris trailers and all types of rigging and safety equipment.

QRI removed, excavated, handled, temporarily stored, transported and disposed of contaminated and non-contaminated media consisting of 107,792 yd3 vegetative debris, 1,553 yd3 construction and demolition debris, (C&D), 1,677 yd3 regulated asbestos containing material (RACM), 19,915 items of household hazardous waste (HHW), 544 items of white goods (WG) with freon removed, and 188 items of electronic waste (EW) on the 8,173 properties. All activities were documented by 131 teams of QRI personnel that photographed existing conditions, progress and completion stages with 367,785 photographs and provided 8,173 residential specific post-remediation documentation packets that were satisfactory to the property owners and/or tenants, the Government and the public.
