PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In September of 2009, QRI was awarded a $2.2M contract for the construction of 74 Relief Wells on the landside of the Mississippi Mainline Levee located west of Tunica, MS. QRI completed this project on-time and within budget with no health or safety incidents, which resulted in four follow-up contracts with the USACE, Memphis District for Relief Well work in Coahoma County, MS; Cairo, IL; Linda, MO and again in Tunica, MS. Within these five contracts, a total of 277 Relief Wells were installed along Mississippi River levee structures. Each project included core drilling, soil sampling, earthwork and laboratory testing services.

Because of QRI’s outstanding attention to safety and excellence in construction, one of the five contracts resulted in a Certificate of Appreciation for Superior Safety Performance from the USACE Mississippi Valley Division Safety Now Advocate Group.
