As a subcontractor to Conti, QRI performed the curb side collection, tagging, sampling, and characterization of household hazardous and electronic waste displaced by Hurricane Katrina in public areas and residential neighborhoods of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. QRI successfully collected 74,700 units of HHW and 10,260 units of electronic goods and mobilized over 40 collection crews in recovery and segregation of HHW, EW, and C&D debris. QRI also supervised the quality control of collection and segregation processes to ensure protocols were followed. QRI oversaw the highly public transition of HHW collection from EPA contractors to the USACE.
