PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A broken pipeline carrying oil and brine water across a freshwater marsh on a private property in South Louisiana left portions of the property severely impacted even after reported cleanup efforts. QRI was contracted to conduct a site investigation to determine the nature and extent of contamination in the impacted marsh area for use in determining future remediation and restoration to pre-spill conditions. Prior to the site investigation, QRI reviewed and studied spill history documentation as well as prior state agency interaction. A field investigation, soil sample collection, vegetation and wildlife surveys and a Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM) survey was then conducted.
