Our names are Fonda Lindfors New, CEO and Kenny New, President. QRI was established in 1986 born from a love of cleaning up the oilfield legacy sites in coastal Louisiana. Since that time, 25 years ago, the company has grown through the acquisition of other small businesses such as LERU Regulatory Compliance (1999), GeoSpec (2005), NorthStar Drilling (2006), Henderson Remodeling (2009), and the pure hard work and dedication of a staff that believes: We Do That! When you look at QRI and all the different services we provide within our Divisions you may ask yourself the question, “How can they do all of that cohesively?” Let us answer that.
QRI‘s initial clientele was the oilfield in Coastal Louisiana. At that time we exclusively provided Consulting and Drilling services. However, when you are at a gathering station in the middle of the Atchafalaya Swamp you must have everything you need to service the client. Over time, our clients would request various additional services such as cleaning up oil spills, demolition and disposing of old facilities, etc. The talents necessary to complete such a wide suite of work included everything from craftsmen with environmental backgrounds to welders, electricians, and plumbers. Then Katrina/Rita hit and almost turned our coastal Louisiana business upside-down.
However, in 2004 QRI obtained its Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) certification in order to pursue Federal opportunities with all of the skill sets obtained over years of working in coastal Louisiana. Pre-Katrina, we began marketing to larger consultant companies in Houston about QRI and our recently obtained Federal status. One of those companies (TechLaw) realized our capabilities within three (3) days after Katrina. Fifty-four (54) QRI employees served for eighteen (18) months for the USEPA Region 6 START and provided 16% of the Katrina/Rita Incident Command Structure. Today, QRI works side by side with many of the same Federal agencies helping to rebuild Louisiana and the Gulf Coast with the services provided by our five (5) Divisions.
QRI is eager for opportunities with new clients, and looks forward to meeting the goals of our existing clients as we continue to grow and serve.
