TYPE OF WORK

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
QRI completed eleven task orders for the Galveston District performing core drilling, soil sampling and laboratory testing in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana for a total of $1.5 million in value. The primary purpose of this geotechnical contract was to explore existing levee alignment foundation and borrow source soil conditions and to investigate subsurface soil parameters for the design of erosion protection measures. Task orders were performed in hard to access locations such as islands accessible only by boat (using barges for equipment transport), heavily wooded areas and in dredge spoil areas.

“QRI did not exceed the awarded task order cost even though the site conditions were very challenging and the soil composition encountered was predominantly extremely soft.” Leigh Ann Kahla-Adams, Memphis District Contract Coordinator
