PROJECT DESCRIPTION
QRI has conducted over 50 surveys for multiple clients at airport facilities across the United States in the past 10 years. Utility locating is done to locate both known and unknown utility lines, usually prior to ground disturbing activities, to prevent property damage or loss of life. GPR’s electromagnetic method detects interfaces between subsurface materials with differing dielectric constants, and has the advantage of internal shielding which minimizes the effects of power lines and metallic objects. EM surveys are used to locate metallic utilities or objects. EM is useful when locating metallic pipelines, conduit and other objects containing ferrous material.
